Inside Sales Executive, (San Francisco Office)

AgLocal, a technology startup headquartered in San Francisco, with offices in New York, is building an e-commerce platform and network to facilitate relationships and the exchange of high quality and sustainably raised proteins. Meat production is a $200 billion industry that is rife with inefficiencies. We’re building and implementing software to fundamentally change the way food is sold, and efficiently connect producers of the highest quality and responsibly raised products with their target customers. Our users are producers (family operated farms and ranches), wholesaler meat purveyors, and restuaranteurs.

Mission: AgLocal wishes to scale the usage of this platform by use and geography in all of the markets it serves.

Role requirement: The Inside Sales Executive will develop and call on desired sales targets for the purpose of converting them to users of our platform. A day will include using email, social networks and the telephone to cold call, follow-up, demo and sign up users for the service. if acquiring a user is not possible the candidate will attempt to set appointments for the outside sales rep in market. The inside sales rep will also be given lists of inactive users for the purpose of re-energizing these relationships into active users again.


  • Prospects cold leads in order to turn them into warm leads via email, social networks and telephone calls, and uses inbound marketing to qualify "opt in" warm leads to verify the interest.

  • Works with sales manager to implement strategy that will lead to achievement of the weekly and monthly plan
  • Conducts prospecting via active and inactive accounts, warm leads delivered from marketing and cold calls

  • Tracks Sales funnel (market penetration, leads, conversions, etc.) and reports weekly to the manager assigned to them
  • Presents AgLocal’s value proposition and promotes the platform to potential and existing clients

  • Implements solution by on-boarding new clients by walking through the platform to ensure utilization
  • Continues relationship with customers to ensure adoption, engagement, and continual use of the AgLocal platform

  • Requirements:

    Relevant sales experience developing new leads and establishing new markets

  • Demonstrated success working in fast-paced, highly competitive, deadline oriented environment
  • Ability to establish and build relationships quickly within all levels of an organization internally and externally

  • A proven track record of exceeding required sales targets and delivering strong financial returns
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, follow-up, negotiation and closing skills

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university; two years sales or business development experience
  • Comfortable using and showcasing technology products


  • Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working in and developing new business for a technology startup

  • Passionate about sustainable food production, and generally a demonstrated enthusiasm for food
  • Working knowledge of popular breeds of animals, raising and slaughter process and practices, as well meat butchery literacy

  • Compensation:

    Target income between $70K and $100k

  • includes full health benefits and inclusion in the employee stock option pool
